Supported by City of Perth, Skills of the Modern Age and Spacecubed, Startup Weekend brings together Western Australian designers, developers, entrepreneurs, and experts from all domains, providing the perfect opportunity for anyone, of any background to kick start their business ideas amongst like minded individuals. Held all across the world, Startup Weekend always follows the same basic model:
PITCH: Anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea
Coming together for a weekend, we kick off with ideas. Anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from peers and other attendees. From here, teams will form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote). It can be a social enterprise or a tech venture - anything and everything is welcome!
BUILD: The three-day frenzy begins
Each team will dive head first into business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation for their formed idea. There’s unlimited coffee, free food and plenty of free-flowing ideas, as this fast-paced and highly creative event challenges everyone who attends.
LAUNCH: Fully formed business presentations
The weekend culminates with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders, mentors and those in the startup community with another opportunity for critical feedback, and of course, a winner!
