This is your chance to build a company in just 54 hours at Spacecubed’s 19th Startup Weekend!
Attention all entrepreneurs and aspiring startup founders! Spacecubed is excited to announce that the 19th instalment of Perth Startup Weekend is here and will be taking place between June 9th -11th at Riff.
Have you ever had a brilliant business idea but didn't know where to start? Or have you ever wondered what it takes to build a startup from scratch? Startup Weekend is the perfect opportunity to do just that! Attendees get the chance to learn and network with experienced mentors, connect with founders and meet like minded individuals who are ready to support your ideas and witness your startup be born.
Over the course of an exciting weekend, you'll learn how to create a real company from the ground up, and meet other creatives, technologists, designers, and developers. The weekend will include pitching, business model creation, prototyping, designing, and market validation, all in a friendly and supportive team environment.
So, how does the weekend unfold? On Friday night, we welcome anyone with an idea to pitch to the group. Teams then form around the top ideas, and we’re ready to go. Throughout the weekend, the teams will learn Lean startup principles that allow them to develop, test, validate and prototype their idea, creating a full business in just 54-hours. Then on Sunday, all teams will pitch their progress and ideas to a panel of judges, where prizes will be awarded, and the winning team crowned. The winning team will receive a 6 month coworking membership to continue growing their business!
You can expect to experience professional and personal challenges over the weekend, including highs and lows, failures and successes. With Spacecubed having hosted Startup Weekend for a number of years, we have seen countless businesses develop during the process (hear from Simply Wall St founder here!). Whether participants of the event go on to found companies, find a co-founder, meet someone new, or learn a new skill, everyone is guaranteed to leave the event better prepared to navigate the world of startups.
Below, runner up of Startup Weekend 2022, Desiree Louis shares what she enjoyed most about the weekend and how it helped her launch her business.
“We learnt so much valuable information and created beneficial networks during Startup Weekend. Now, we are continuing to pursue our business and using those early foundations from Startup Weekend has made a huge difference to our progress.” She shared.
When asked if she’d recommend the weekend to others who want to experience startup life, she stated she absolutely would.
“It was a life changing experience and I can see things differently after attending the Startup Weekend event. We came in with an idea and left with a vision that had substance and direction.”
“I highly recommend anyone who has a business or business idea to attend and they will walk out with an ocean of knowledge and connect with like minded individuals.” She concluded.
