Spacecubed’s Innovative Society Fund, supported by Lotterywest, exists to build a stronger culture of entrepreneurship and innovation in Western Australia. This is measured by creating thriving, resilient entrepreneurs, innovators and changemakers, as well as building a thriving, resilient and sustainable innovation ecosystem.
Earlier this year, we announced a new stream of funding available, Catalyst Inspire, designed to inspire new people to participate in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem through inspiring events, programs, and activation activities.
Eligible organisations can access up to $10,000 for each program or event that focuses on inspiring new participation in the innovation ecosystem. This funding can be used for event logistics such as space hire, catering, printing, or materials, as well as costs associated with guest speakers or facilitators.
Applications for funding under Catalyst Inspire are assessed by an independent assessment panel within a maximum of 30 days of being received. The panel assesses the application against the following criteria:
Impact: How many new people are attracted to participate in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem through this event, program, or activation activity?
Growth: Potential to increase 'new to ecosystem' participation as well as supporting marginalised groups not currently served by existing ecosystems events or activities.
Capacity: The applicant has demonstrated the capacity to deliver the proposed program or event, including financial and project management capabilities.
Alignment of Values: The proposed event, program or activation activity is aligned with our values of collaboration, innovation, and impact.
To be eligible for funding, the lead applicant must be an eligible Western Australia not-for-profit and a registered Meshpoints Partner (free, and easy to join!). Eligible expenditure must focus on direct activities for coordinating, implementing, and administering events, programs, or activities that inspire new participation in the ecosystem. Funding can be sought for events or activities that have been previously run, but it must demonstrate how the funding sought attracts new participants to the ecosystem. Catalyst Inspire is an excellent opportunity for Western Australian not-for-profit organisations to access funding for programs or events that inspire new participation in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. By focusing on increasing diversity and inclusivity, Catalyst Inspire aims to create a more vibrant and sustainable ecosystem that benefits all Western Australians.
