We’re proud to announce a new partnership with CSIRO’s ON Innovation Program, bringing together two communities committed to supporting founders, researchers and innovators across WA. This collaboration marks a shared effort to strengthen connections across the ecosystem, creating more opportunities for ideas to move from concept through to commercialisation and growth.
To launch the partnership, Spacecubed and CSIRO ON will host Perth Innovation Connect, an evening designed to bring together founders, researchers, investors and ecosystem leaders into one room. Taking place on Tuesday, 21 April at Riff, the event will create space for meaningful conversations, shared insights and new connections across sectors, stages and disciplines.
WA’s innovation ecosystem continues to grow, with increasing collaboration between startups, research institutions, industry and government. However, these groups don’t always have the opportunity to come together in a way that encourages open dialogue and knowledge sharing. Perth Innovation Connect aims to bridge that gap, aligning the full spectrum of the innovation community and creating an environment where new ideas, partnerships and opportunities can emerge.
At the centre of the evening will be two founder stories, each representing a different pathway into innovation. One will share the journey of translating research into a commercial venture, while the other will offer a perspective from a more traditional startup pathway. Through honest reflections on the highs, challenges and lessons learned, attendees will gain a deeper understanding of what it takes to build and grow in today’s landscape.
The event will also include a series of short, open mic pitches, giving attendees the opportunity to share what they are working on with the broader community. Whether it is an early-stage idea, a growing business or a call-out for collaboration, this format is designed to lower the barrier to participation and encourage more voices to be heard. These moments often lead to valuable introductions, new partnerships and unexpected opportunities.
