Plus Eight Academy kicks off two, side by side Sprint programs
This past month of September has been a huge month here at Spacecubed, with our flagship programs, Plus Eight and She Codes kick starting a range of programs. Running side by side, Plus Eight Sprint and the She Codes Female Founders program, are business development programs designed to support founders on their business journey. (She Codes has also just launched their Perth Plus program for the 22/23 cohort, but you can read more about that here.)
Our Plus Eight Sprint program, beginning last Tuesday evening, on the 27th September, had over sixteen people attend the first session of the program. These individuals will have the chance to be connected with a community of successful mentors, investors and advisors, all while working to take their startup ideas to the next level. Topics covered during the program include business model development, validation and customer testing, growth, marketing and much more!
The 2022 Sprint cohort is full of interesting and diverse businesses ranging across multiple industries, including gaming, childcare, co-living and non for profit, industrial up-cycling and more. This cohort also includes the winning team from Startup Weekend which took place earlier in August. As part of their winning prize, four individuals get to independently work on their own business concepts throughout Sprint. Joining them in the Sprint cohort after also participating in Startup Weekend is One Click Cars and Car Match, who both won scholarships from Startup Weekend sponsor, Capricorn Society.
What’s more, is that one lucky participant will be chosen to attend a ‘Golden Ticket Pitch Event’ at the end of the six-week program, where they will have the chance to pitch their business to selected judges to gain entry into Bootcamp for Plus Eight’s six month Accelerator program in 2023.
Running alongside Sprint, the She Codes Female Founders program, powered by Plus Eight also began earlier in September, and is now well and truly past its halfway point. This part-time program was designed for She Codes Plus alumni, local female founders and those in the Perth community wanting to learn the basics of entrepreneurship and running a successful business. The program began with an opening pitch night and weekend bootcamp, and has since had weekly workshop sessions where the cohort has been mentored by industry experts.
Both of these programs are working towards our mission to support, empower and inspire 1 million changemakers by 2030.
