We're excited to announce that Startup Weekend: Student Edition is coming to Riff, powered by Spacecubed, from November 15-17! This edition, in partnership with the City of Perth and Venture UWA, is designed exclusively for university students, offering a unique platform to collaborate, learn, and innovate in a fast-paced, real-world environment.
Startup Weekend is a 54-hour entrepreneurial sprint where students (18+) from all academic backgrounds will come together to create, develop, and pitch business ideas. Over one action-packed weekend, they will experience the full spectrum of startup life, from pitching ideas and validating markets to creating prototypes and developing business models. Whether they’re studying business, engineering, the arts, or anything in between, this is their unique opportunity to dive headfirst into the world of entrepreneurship.
Here’s how the weekend will unfold:
- Friday (5PM - 8PM): Start the weekend with networking and icebreakers, followed by idea pitches, where teams will form organically around the top ideas.
- Saturday & Sunday (9AM - 7PM): Dive deep into building your business concept. Work in teams, develop your prototype, and create a marketable solutions.
- Sunday Night (4PM - 7PM): It’s time to shine! Present your project to a panel of judges, your peers, and mentors, and see if your idea is crowned the winner.
Throughout the weekend, attendees will receive hands-on mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and industry leaders, giving them the tools and guidance to transform your idea into a potential startup. Whether they're aiming to launch their own business, meet future collaborators, or simply challenge themselves to think like an entrepreneur, Startup Weekend: Student Edition will provide the platform they need to succeed. This event isn’t just about creating startups, it’s about fostering a community of young innovators who are ready to take risks and make a difference.
