Inside the Western Sydney Startup Hub: What Members Say About Our Coworking, Office & Resident Desk Spaces
The Western Sydney Startup Hub is a vibrant space for innovation, connection and growth in North Parramatta, offering flexible memberships for every stage of your business journey.
We recently spoke with three members of the Western Sydney Startup Hub, each on a different membership, to find out what they value most about the community and how the space supports their business growth.
Private Office Member: Michael Schepis, Cofounder of Handle Branding
Handle Branding is one of Australia’s leading creative design agencies, working with brands globally. The team relocated from their original office space when the Western Sydney Startup Hub opened, in favour of the collaborative nature of a coworking space.
“As the saying goes, you are who you surround yourself with,” Michael shared. That mindset has shaped the way his team approaches growth at Handle Branding.
Michael regularly attends events in the space and is an integral part of our community at WSSH, always giving a warm welcome to new members and offering a helping hand to anybody in need.
“Being around others has broadened our understanding of different industries and business approaches. We've genuinely enjoyed connecting and collaborating with others in the space, which continues to open up positive opportunities for growth,” shared Michael.
The energy of the WSSH community has helped the Handle team expand their perspective, make meaningful connections, and unlock new opportunities for their established business.
Resident Desk Member: Alan Jan, Founder of AJ Engineering Consultancy
Alan Jan was looking for a balance between flexibility and consistency when he chose a Resident Desk membership. “The dedicated desk gives me a consistent workspace where I can leave my setup and feel like I ‘go to work’ every day, without the distractions of home or the rigidity of a traditional office,” Alan explained.
One of the benefits included with our Resident Desk memberships are 8 hours of meeting room credits per month, which Alan described as a “game-changer,” providing a professional space for him to meet with clients.
Most importantly for Alan, the real value lies in the community at the Western Sydney Startup Hub. “WSSH isn’t just about shared desks and meeting rooms — it’s filled with people who are genuinely motivated, collaborative, and open to helping others. I’ve met potential clients, mentors, and even a few friends just by being in the space,” he shared.
“People are really supportive and curious about what others are doing, so even casual conversations often turn into something meaningful. It’s one of those environments that naturally helps ideas grow.”
“Whether you're just starting out or scaling up, WSSH gives you the environment and support to keep moving forward,” Alan concluded.
Full-Time Coworking Member: Tommy Dam, Founder of Carelogix
For Tommy Dam, founder of AI-driven platform Carelogix, Spacecubed’s coworking membership was about more than finding a desk. He needed an environment that fosters accountability, progress, and momentum.
“When people around you casually ask how things are going or what you’re working on, it creates a natural sense of responsibility,” he shared. That energy has been essential in developing his platform, which helps healthcare organisations transform raw data into structured, actionable insights with AI.
The coworking space at the Western Sydney Startup Hub proves to be an environment where connection is inevitable. “Even if you're naturally introverted or head-down in your project, being in that kind of space exposes you to people, events, and ideas constantly,” shared Tommy.
Countless valuable conversations have sparked in the space, shaping the direction of Carelogix for Tommy. “From idea feedback to potential collaboration or partnership opportunities, simply being present has opened doors I wouldn’t have found elsewhere.”
Tommy told us the biggest lesson he has learned on his journey: “Where you build can be just as important as what you’re building.”
“Spacecubed has been more than just a place to work — it’s been a space to test, refine, and grow our impact. If you’re ready to turn your idea into something powerful, this is where it starts,” concluded Tommy.
Whether you’re launching a startup, seeking a productive workspace, aiming to connect with a vibrant community of innovators, or looking for a new office for your team, the Western Sydney Startup Hub has something for everyone at flexible, founder-friendly rates.
