How AusPlant is revolutionising plant management for WA’s construction industry
At Spacecubed, we’re proud to support founders at every stage of their journey, whether they’re developing their first MVP or scaling into new markets. Through our coworking spaces, growth programs, and strong community of like-minded innovators, we’re here to support founders with bold ideas that solve real problems.
Spacecubed member Mikey Donegan is bringing a fresh perspective to the civil and construction industry through AusPlant, a software platform built to improve how plant and equipment are managed. We recently sat down with Mikey to learn more about his business and ambitions expanding into Western Australia.
Mikey’s journey began while working within a construction company which drew his attention to a recurring issue: many businesses were relying on paper-based systems, disconnected software, and spreadsheets to track their assets. This resulted in him partnering with his co-founder in Dublin to build AusPlant.
“Our platform helps civil and construction companies manage all their assets in one place, with AI-driven tools that simplify admin and give teams better visibility into their operations,” explained Mikey.
Currently, AusPlant is being piloted with a construction company in WA. The team is rolling out the first version of the platform and gathering real-time feedback to refine the product. At its core, AusPlant focuses on day-to-day plant management, helping teams access information quickly, reduce administrative overhead costs, and make data-informed decisions.
As part of this, AusPlant is developing AI features that support smarter workflows and help teams make more informed decisions. “Feedback from real users is shaping how we refine and expand our solution,” shared Mikey.
Through Spacecubed’s programs, flexible coworking spaces, and suite of resources designed to support founders on their growth journey, Mikey is able to make valuable connections and establish a presence in WA. Discussing this growth, he shared the following.
“We’re hoping to meet more potential customers, find local partners, and raise awareness about our product in WA. Spacecubed has been valuable in connecting us with other founders going through similar challenges.”
AusPlant’s main focus right now is on its expansion into WA, targeting civil and construction companies that own and manage their own machinery.
“Being based in Perth gives us the chance to meet teams face-to-face and work closely with them to build a product that actually fits their day-to-day needs,” Mikey shared.
Unlike many startups that expand into unfamiliar markets, AusPlant was designed with the local industry in mind from day one. The company continues to evolve its offering based on direct conversations with construction professionals across the region.
“We started the business based on the challenges we saw here in WA,” Mikey said. “By speaking directly with local construction teams, we’re able to shape the product in a way that really matches how companies operate.”
As AusPlant continues its journey with the support of Spacecubed, the team remains focused on delivering practical tools that improve efficiency, cut down on paperwork, and help construction businesses work smarter.
