Have Your Say: WA Innovation Ecosystem Survey Now Open

Have your say on what comes next for WA’s innovation ecosystem. What’s working in Western Australia’s innovation ecosystem? What’s missing? And what needs to happen next?

The WA Innovation Ecosystem Survey for 2026 is now open, inviting founders, innovators, investors, mentors and ecosystem supporters to share their perspectives on the current state of innovation across WA.

Taking just 5 – 7 minutes to complete, this survey is designed to capture a real-time picture of the ecosystem, from the challenges people are facing, to the support that’s making a difference, and where new opportunities exist. It’s a simple way to contribute to a clearer, more connected understanding of how innovation is evolving across the state.

Why this matters
Strong ecosystems aren’t built in isolation, they’re shaped by the people within them.

The insights gathered through this survey will help inform future Meshpoints programs, funding priorities and ecosystem initiatives, ensuring they reflect the real needs of founders, organisations and supporters across WA. Rather than relying on assumptions, this is about grounding decisions in lived experience and collective insight.

It also contributes to a broader “ecosystem pulse”, helping identify patterns, gaps and opportunities that can strengthen how innovation is supported, connected and scaled over time.

Who should complete this survey
If you’re part of WA’s innovation ecosystem in any way, we’d love to hear from you, including:

• Startup founders, entrepreneurs and changemakers at any stage

• Investors, mentors and advisors

• Ecosystem organisations such as incubators, accelerators, coworking spaces and program providers

• Government, universities, corporates and philanthropists supporting innovation

What to expect
The survey is completely anonymous. It has been developed in partnership with independent research organisation Huber Social, with all data securely stored and analysed in aggregate.

While participation is anonymous, there is an optional section at the end where you can provide your details to go in the draw to win 1 of 3 $100 VISA gift cards.

The results will be used to inform recommendations on how to better support innovators and entrepreneurs in WA, as well as contribute to the ongoing impact evaluation of Meshpoints. Over time, this helps ensure that funding, programs and ecosystem initiatives are aligned with where they can create the greatest impact.
