How did your startup/business journey begin?
GRC Solutions' journey began in the late 1990’s as Legal Technology Group, a small department in a large law firm. We provided a range of technological publishing innovations to assist clients on legal matters. One of our biggest achievements during this time was the development of SALT (Self-Administered Legal Training), an online training program aimed at assisting businesses to teach their staff about their legal obligations. We are now an independent business with offices across Australia, in Singapore and in New York. In 2016, we acquired Better, a US based company with an adaptive eLearning platform. In 2017, we acquired the compliance division of the Customer-Owned Banking Association and expanded our product suite within the financial services sector.
What are you working on at the moment?
Some interesting client projects. One is a suite of Compulsory Professional Development e-learning modules for the WA government to deliver to the licensed real estate and settlement industries. The other is a Whistleblowing training program for the directors of a large network of community banks.
What do you love about being a part of the Spacecubed community?
The staff are very friendly, supportive and helpful and the diverse and interesting community of members.
Can you share with us one of your favourite success stories?
A favourite success story for me at GRC Solutions was the Winner award for the Best Learning Model – Bespoke/Custom by the LearnX Foundation for my Perth client Department of Mines, Industry, Regulation and Safety in 2019.
What do you hope to achieve in 2020?
I hope to be able to win and deliver some interesting bespoke learning programs which assist companies in meeting their legal and compliance obligations in the complex and uncertain world of 2020.
