What ideas are you exploring at the moment? What are you working on?

CoreData is a global market research consultancy with a local office here in Perth. We help companies grow by better understanding their customers. A lot of the work we've been picking up in the last 12 months is strategic research - helping businesses get the evidence they need to make better decisions and be more successful in attracting and retaining customers. That includes market segmentation, as well as market and competitor intelligence, given many of the companies we work with are going through substantial change in their respective industries and need to pivot to remain successful.

What do you enjoy most about the Spacecubed community?

Meeting interesting, like-minded people who are working on inspiring ideas. We've been at FLUX for a couple of years now, and find the space perfect for companies like us that have a small local team supported by people in other states and countries.

How did your startup journey begin?

Technically, CoreData has been around since 2002. But the WA business is still young. We officially established CoreData WA in July 2017 and while the company specialises in financial services research, our Perth clients span a range of sectors. We're lucky to be able to tap into talent in our Sydney and Manila offices so we can support and manage local clients on the ground in Perth, while bringing in skills from other teams as required.

Who would you like to connect with most?

Corporates or the larger end of SME, in particular marketing managers and those in charge of customer insights. We are always looking to connect with people whose role involves improving the customer experience within their business, as that's what we do day in, day out. We also see ourselves as problem solvers, so if you've got a problem, we'd love to chat!

Can you share with us a success story you've achieved during your time at FLUX?

Just before Christmas we worked with a mining company that was navigating a change that would have a big impact on their FIFO workforce. It was a win for the business, because they were able to find a way forward that met the needs of their employees, and a win for staff, because they were given a chance to have their say and be part of the solution.

What do you hope to achieve in 2019?

Continue to build new relationships with businesses in Perth who are seeking to grow by better understanding their customers.

We love having Kristen as part of the Spacecubed community and we’re excited to watch CoreData as it continues to grow throughout the year.
