When Spacecubed took over as operator of the Western Sydney Startup Hub in late 2022, we had a clear vision: to build a place where founders, small business owners, and innovators across Sydney could work, connect, and grow, as not just a coworking space, but a genuine launchpad for the region's startup and business community.

In 2026, we reached a major milestone, welcoming more than 100 businesses into the community. Today, WSSH is home to more than 110 businesses on-site with 150+ members, spanning private offices, resident desks, coworking memberships, and beyond. The community stretches across a genuinely wide range of sectors: health tech, fintech, architecture, engineering, logistics, AI, education, creative services, legal, NDIS, mortgage broking, psychology, and more.

That breadth is deliberate. Western Sydney is one of the most economically and culturally diverse regions in Australia, and the community inside WSSH reflects that. From solo founders at idea stage to established businesses with full teams, members come to WSSH not just for a desk, but for the network around them.

For WSSH member [Carole Issa](https://www.linkedin.com/in/caroleissa/), innovation sits at the intersection of technology, creativity and leadership development.

Recently, Carole has been experimenting with ways AI can support leadership development while still feeling accessible and human.

One expression of this has been creating songs exploring themes such as confidence, influence, impact and self-awareness, bringing together her background in sound engineering with her current work in leadership development.

“The aim is to offer people another entry point into their own leadership journey, something that they can enjoy and feel, as well as relate to,” she shared.

For Carole, being part of WSSH also means being surrounded by people creating and experimenting.

“I value being part of a community of people who are building, experimenting and bringing new ideas to life. There’s a real sense of energy, openness and support that makes it a great environment to grow, share ideas and explore what’s possible,” concluded Carole.

You can explore more of Carole’s work through her[YouTube channel](https://youtube.com/@caroleissaactivator?si=cA0znMRUxbv4gXWO) and[Substack](https://substack.com/@caroleissa).

Riley Spring and his team at [Sovereign Grace Church](https://sovgrace.org.au/) are focused on supporting as many people in Parramatta.

As one of the newest teams to join the Western Sydney Startup Hub, Riley shared the following with us.

“Being part of WSSH has been a new home for us and our team. We love the friendly community spirit, the awesome team that run WSSH, and all our new friends; not to mention the beautiful aesthetic environment!”

Stories like Carole’s and Riley’s show just how varied the community inside WSSH has become with members from a range of industries at different stages of business, all sharing the same space.

Achieving the milestone of 100 businesses happened during one of WSSH's busiest months this year. This month alone, WSSH hosted nine programs and events, bringing more than 500 attendees through the doors across the month.

The Western Sydney Tech Innovators (WSTI), founded by WSSH member [Lailei Huang](https://www.linkedin.com/in/laileihuang/), ran a full series of hands-on AI workshops, covering everything from no-code app building and AI automation workflows to concept design sessions for the upcoming WSTI AI Hackathon. Two full-day workshops alone drew over 160 participants combined, with a 96% show-up rate, a number that reflects genuine demand in WSTI’s community-led AI shed model.

The Western Sydney Plus Eight Pre-Accelerator Pitch Night, supported by the NSW Government, also brought 124 founders, mentors, investors, and community members into the Large Event Space to celebrate the close of the program's latest cohort ([see the recap here!](https://blog.spacecubed.com/western-sydney-innovators-take-the-stage-at-plus-eight-pre-accelerator-pitch-night))

Alongside these, members and the wider community had access to free one-on-one sessions with WSSH's Mentors in Residence, a growing roster of experts embedded in WSSH and available by appointment, covering everything from business insurance and risk, government grants and R&D funding, to marketing, growth, and startup accounting. All sessions are free, practical, and open to founders at any stage ([see more and book here!](https://blog.spacecubed.com/meet-our-mentors-in-residence-free-expert-sessions-at-the-western-sydney-startup-hub)). And running through it all, the weekly Wednesday Morning Teas have become one of the most valued rituals in the space.

**Why Western Sydney, why now**
WSSH sits close to the Westmead health and innovation precinct, and that location has shaped the community in interesting ways. A notable cluster of health-adjacent businesses has grown organically within the hub, including health tech platforms, allied health practitioners, psychology practices, and medical consultancies.

More broadly, Western Sydney is at an inflection point. It is home to more than 2.5 million people, a growing university and research sector, and significant infrastructure investment. The region has entrepreneurial talent in abundance, it has long needed a home for it. WSSH is that home.

**What membership looks like**
Memberships start from $50 per month + GST, with options ranging from community memberships and coworking through to resident desks and private offices for growing teams.

Every member gets more than a place to work. Members can access regular weekly events, monthly meeting room credits, discounted event space hire, and discounted products and services via our partnership network including up to $350,000 USD in Google Cloud credits, up to $150,000 in Microsoft Azure credits, 90% off HubSpot for Startups, and discounts on Notion, GitHub, Make, Zoho, Remote, and more ([explore our benefit suite here!](https://www.spacecubed.com/resources#benefits)).

The full list of member perks keeps growing. But the most valuable thing in the building is still the community itself.
